59 Million Euros from EU Pre-Accession Funds Successfully Contracted

The Republic of Serbia has successfully, within the planned deadline, finished the contracting of projects for the programme IPA 2014 with the contracting rate being 90.08% or 59,220,430 million euros.


The contracting rate achieved this and last year is a clear indicator of professionalism and constant devoted effort of all RS institutions which are part of IPA structure - Ministry of Finance, Ministry of European Integration, all ministries and institutions that are beneficiaries of EU funds, as well as the indicator of good cooperation with The Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia.


The achieved result represents the total of 86 signed contracts for this programme period.


The total budget of the Financing Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the European Union for the IPA 2014 National Programme, which is implemented through decentralised management of EU funds, amounts to 65,744,160 euros, out of which 59,026,160 euros are the European Union funds and the national contribution is 6,718,000 euros.


Infrastructure projects, procurement of goods and services in the fields of human rights, environmental protection, agriculture, economy, European integration, youth and sports, energy, education, social services, labour, employment, strengthening of local self-governments and finances are represented in this programming period. The deadline for the implementation of these projects is three years.


High absorption of EU pre-accession assistance results in the achievement of the strategic objective of the Republic of Serbia and the continuation of responsible planning and project implementation as well as the compliance with set deadlines, which also confirms the readiness of all relevant institutions of the Republic of Serbia for future management of EU structural funds.

IPA 2014 is the second programme which has been contracted since the beginning of decentralised EU funds management system in which the Ministry of Finance, the Department for Contracting and Financing of EU Funded Programmes (CFCU) is the contracting authority responsible for the implementation of public procurement, contracting, financial management, monitoring of the implementation of the contracts financed by EU pre-accession assistance.
